Description:
The Red River Valley Juvenile Center (RRVJC) located in Crookston, MN was opened in 1997. RRVJC provides eight beds for residential placement and eight beds for secure detention. Residential placements include Shelter Care, Behavioral Evaluations, and 90-day programming. Secure Detention placements for up to 90-day include new criminal citations, court holds, and Probation violations. Facility programming includes the use of the cognitive-based program “Thinking for a Change” and the Nurtured Heart Approach. Juveniles receive Life Skills, six hours of daily education, mental health groups, chemical education, sexual health education, and participation at Stable Days Youth Ranch. The RRVJC provides placement options for male and female adolescents from 10 to 18 years of age. The Center can also provide secure detention services for extended jurisdiction juvenile matters up to the age of 21. The RRVJC is operated by Tri-County Community Corrections and accepts court ordered referrals from all Minnesota and North Dakota counties. The Center is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Corrections and is 4-E eligible through license with the Minnesota Department of Human Services
